Olivia Lynch is the President and co-founder of the Black Baton Twirlers Network (BBTN) and a decorated baton twirler with numerous state, regional, and national titles. She has performed with the U.S. All-Stars at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Showtime at the Apollo, and the World Performing Arts Championships. Olivia made history as the first African American to win the prestigious Congressional Cup Invitational.
In addition to her competitive achievements, Olivia was named 2023 HBCU Baton Twirling Coach of the Year. With a background in higher education and project management, she is passionate about creating a positive impact for future generations, promoting diversity, and fostering a supportive twirling community.
Vice-President & Co-founder
John "Baton" Mitchell, Vice President of the Black Baton Twirlers Network (BBTN), is a trailblazing twirling legend known for his bold style and game-changing presence. As a nationally recognized twirler, John holds multiple national, world open, and collegiate championship titles. He made history as the first African American and male feature twirler for the Penn State University Marching Blue Band.
John has dazzled audiences across the globe with his high-energy, athletic performances, making appearances on America’s Got Talent, in the movie Soul Plane, Showtime at the Apollo, and at halftime shows for the Clippers and LA Lakers. An international NBTA & AAU judge and coach, John also serves as the President of Twirling to Fight Cancer. He is currently based in Las Vegas, NV
